Chailines Telephone Support Group
Chaiyanu
maintains a number of teleconference support group programs
for parents of children living with a wide range of serious
medical conditions. In addition, an "Informative ChaiLines"
brings current psycho-educational information directly to parents
of seriously ill children by connecting them via teleconference
with experts in the health field. All teleconference support
groups are facilitated by clinical social workers and therapists/counselors.
Counseling
for Patients and Family Members
Clinical counseling and support via telephone or in community-based
Chaiyanu counseling centers are available to families during
crisis situations. Certified social workers and psychologists
provide individual, ongoing therapy for children and adults
coping with serious pediatric illness.

Family
Retreats
Held in rural or resort settings, Chaiyanu retreats are designed
to address the emotional and social needs of each member of
the family through lectures, small group discussions, mutual
support groups, art therapy and interaction with peers. Periods
of rest and relaxation are included in this full schedule, enabling
families to engage in the same kind of fun-filled activities
they regularly enjoyed before serious childhood illness entered
their lives
Oncoluna
Chaiyanu has produced a revolutionary "one of a kind" interactive
CD-ROM for children battling cancer called "Oncoluna," the Hebrew
translation of oncology and Luna (amusement) park. Through games,
animations and video clips, this CD-ROM explains the different
levels of treatment for cancer patients and thereby lessens
the fears of the children and their families and helps them
cope in a positive way. "Oncoluna" is provided to Chaiyanu families
as well as hospitals throughout the country.
